Surface Pro 3 - Designed to replace your laptop
In an event in New York, Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 3 today Tuesday May 20, specs include 4th-generation Intel Core processors and up to 8 GB of RAM. The surface also packs an impressive 12-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1440.
Specs also include Dolby Audio enhanced sound, USB 3.0 port, microSD card reader, Mini DisplayPort and Microsoft claims the Surface Pro 3 will last 9 hours on a single charge.
At 9.1 mm thin the Surface Pro 3 is definitely thin and attractive and the "multiposition" kickstand makes it easier to use as both a laptop and tablet than its predecessors. Microsoft also claims the new Type Cover has been improved over previous ones.
Microsoft says that the new Surface Pen enables a more natural writing experience, and with a click, it can launch OneNote so you can quickly get to work when you need to, a feature that we previously saw in the Samsung Galaxy Note devices.
The Surface Pro 3 will run Windows 8.1 Pro, which enables users to run desktop applications. This also supports Microsoft's efforts to market the device as a laptop-replacement. There is no mention if Microsoft Office will be included, it has not been included in previous versions.
